Campagnolo 13-Speed Joint with Mounting Bolt

Campagnolo's modern rear derailleurs use a direct-mount interface designed around the UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) standard, which means frames built with traditional threaded hanger dropouts need an adapter to run the latest Super Record Wireless, Super Record S, and Record components. The Standard Dropout Mount is that adapter - a precision-machined piece that bridges Campagnolo's direct-mount derailleur cage to a conventional hanger, restoring compatibility without sacrificing shift quality.

The adapter installs between the derailleur body and the frame's existing hanger, replicating the geometry the derailleur expects from a UDH-equipped frame. Pulley alignment, B-tension behavior, and cage indexing all reference off the adapter's positioning, so the engineering tolerances here matter more than the part's modest appearance suggests. Campagnolo machines the mount from aluminum and finishes it to match the rest of the wireless groupset hardware, keeping the visual lines consistent for riders running the system on an older frame.

For shops and riders working through a groupset upgrade, this is the small component that determines whether a Campagnolo wireless build is even possible on a given bike. Frames with replaceable threaded hangers - which covers the vast majority of road bikes built before the UDH standard's adoption - fall into this category. Without the adapter, the derailleur simply won't bolt up correctly, and forcing the issue compromises shifting performance and risks damage to both the derailleur and the frame.

Installation is straightforward for any mechanico familiar with Campagnolo's wireless ecosystem, but the adapter does need to be torqued to spec and checked for alignment before the derailleur is fitted. The Excel Service Course handles this regularly during Campagnolo wireless builds, particularly when customers are migrating from a 12-speed mechanical or EPS setup to the newer wireless platform on an existing frame.
